On Thursday 5th November we will be running a full day of workshops for Crown Lane Primary School in Lambeth, south London. While the majority of the schools we teach in are secondary schools, its always good to work with the younger children and channel their endless energy into this very positive pursuit. As of Monday November 2nd Acland Burghley School in northwest London will be joining our acclaimed Parkour for Schools Programme with regular weekly classes. With new schools joining all the time we are very happy to see the benefits of the discipline being introduced to so many young people by some very progressive educational establishments. For the next 3 days Forrest will be teaching seminars in Columbus, Ohio for the Parkour Horizons collective. Forrest's trip to Columbus will be the start of a new collaborative effort between Parkour Horizons and Parkour Generations to offer world class parkour coaching in Ohio on a semi-regular basis. The seminars will be running on October 30th and 31st and November 1st.

Next month we will be putting on a live display for the official UK launch of LG's new 'borderless' LED televisions. The event will feature a 4-man performance team from Parkour Generations utilising a bespoke indoor structure for the action in an incredible space set aside for the launch. Should be a cracker...

This half-term week has seen us snowed under with teaching duties for councils and social inclusion programmes all over the UK, with several of the team fully engaged with teaching for our longstanding partner, the City of Westminster. The Westminster Parkour Camp this week ran every day from 10am-1pm at Westminster Academy Sports Centre, and we had regular Edutain session for the Positive Futures programme ongoing as well. Everything went smoothly, with great turnout and enthusiasm from the young people.. and now it's back to the schools as of next week.

Coaches Andy and Alli have just come back from the brand new Sutton class located at the Westcroft Leisure Centre in Carshalton. From all accounts the two one-and-half hour lessons were a huge success with over twenty five people turning up to the introductory session. The first lesson at 4pm is open to anyone under the age of 16, followed by a second class for over 16s from 5.30pm every Wednesday. If you're in the area, why not head over to the class and give it a try!

Resident photographer Andy Day has just released two new galleries of work. The shots comprise a two year project in a few of London's Brutalist-inspired housing estates. Head to his website or click here to check out part one and part two.

This Sunday, October 25th, will see our monthly London Jam, Off the Wall, taking place at Waterloo's IMAX training location from 12pm onwards (beside the Imax cinema just outside Waterloo train station). These jams are open to absolutely anyone and are a great way to meet other traceurs, share training tips and advice, and learn from those more experienced in a relaxed and fun setting. These jams are not structured training, so please just turn up, have some fun, and train safely!

Our signature Outdoor Classes are thriving, with many of the Parkour Generations Team giving of their time and knowledge every week and now that the nights draw in the classes gain that special atmosphere that comes from training in low-light conditions and sometimes in challenging weather conditions..! Class locations for the next few weeks have now been released and can be found on the relevant page at the link above. Please remember you do have to book a space on these classes as we only take limited numbers!

We are pleased to announce that we are now in collaboration with the leading innovative sporting and play equipment developers, Education and Special Projects, and are about to launch a unique range of permanent training facilities for schools across the UK. This concept, known as Free:D, has been in development for some time and will make parkour teaching in schools far more accessible and beneficial all round for both qualified instructors and the young people themselves.

This Thursday, October 22nd, we will be running an entire day of workshops for Petchey Academy's Health Day in Stoke Newington.

Yao and Blane have just returned from teaching at the 'Naoki's Day' seminar in Rome, Italy, and the event was a great success on all fronts. Both days were blessed with great weather and fantastic spirit from all who took part - and the result was over £1100 raised for injured traceur Naoki Ishiyama! Huge thanks to all the Italian parkour commnuities that took part and to parkour.it for organising the event, and to everyone who donated to help out Naoki. Inspirational.

The latest school to engage with our Parkour for Schools Programme is the newly united Fulham Cross and Henry Compton School in Hammersmith, London. This week we begin a series of workshops at the school, and we are looking forward to bringing the benfits of the discipline to this highly progressive establishment. Today, Monday October 19th, we will be running a first workshop for Middlesex University at the Trent Park campus. Middlesex has one of the best dance and performing arts departments in the country, and we are happy to be introducing parkour to the activities on offer there...

We are pleased to announce officially the opening of our new Developing Athletes Programme. The Programme is intended to identify and assist those talented younger practitioners who may wish to take the discipline further, and is focussed on helping them maintain a balance between a rounded and full life and training as a performance athlete and/or parkour instructor by providing them with mentoring and support from the entire Parkour Generations collective.

We've been working very hard this past week to bring a brand new and polished team page to the website. The whole team has detailed biographies, links, videos, slideshows and pictures for each member on their own page. So have a browse through by clicking on the top menu or click HERE to jump over to the team pages now. Also, the eagle-eyed ones among you may also notice a new 'Developing Athlete Programme' section... Stay tuned for more on that!

Tomorrow, Saturday October 17th, we begin an eight-week course of workshops for the London Youth organisation. These workshops will be held at the Attlee Community Centre, 5 Thrawl Street, London E1 6RT and will run from 2-3.30pm each Saturday. Exact details can be found on our Events Calendar, and the sessions are open so please come along and join in.

The second part of the Try'n'Trace video has just been put up on YouTube HERE. The camp had Blane head over to Geneva as a guest teacher and put everyone through their paces... From all reports the camp was a great success and we're already looking forward to next year!

This Sunday will see the Women's Jam in full flow, starting at 12.00 and held at the Elephant and Castle training location. The Jam meets outside Elephant and Castle tube station, in front of the big red shopping centre, and from there will go to the training location behind the centre. Open to any and all women of all levels of ability and experience, the Women's Jamas are a great way to get together with like-minded practitioners to share training tips, advice, methods and generally have a great day of practice!

This Saturday and Sunday team members Blane and Yao will be teaching in Rome, Italy, for the fundraising day for injured traceur Naoki Ishiyama. Also present will be Majestic Force, and the whole event is organised by Parkour.it and the Italian parkour communities. Should be a great couple of days! Saturday 17th october the workshops commence at TOR BELLA MONACA (PIAZZALE TEATRO) at 14.00 and on Sunday 18th October the event will be held at VILLA ADA BASSA (INGRESSO LAGHETTO) from 13.00.

This week, from October 15-17, team member Thomas will be guest instructing at the latest of the Street movement training camps in conjunction with Denmark's Street Movement team. These seminars are always a pleasure to run, and are held on the bespoke training facility just outside Copenhagen which is fantastic to use. The European gatherings in Denmark always have a great spirit to them, with highly experienced practitioners both instructing and attending from all over.

Earlier this year Parkour Generations Director Dan was invited to speak at Play The Game, the World Sports Conference. The official review magazine of the event has just been released and features an article on parkour and how it can benefit young people today. The magazine can also be read in full online, here.

Quick reminder that tomorrow, October 11th, we will be running free parkour workshops all day as part of the Royal parks Half Marathon charity event held in Hyde Park, London. The event will also feature video edits on the giant screen, plus we will be catering for the warm-up and warm-down of the Pulse3K race on the day. All completely free and open to anyone, so come along and dive in!

A weekly Parkour Academy will be starting up in Carshalton, Sutton as of Wednesday October 28th. The two classes will run at Westcroft Leisure Centre from 4-5.30pm for under 16s and 5.30-7.00pm for over 16s. Two Parkour Generations instructors will be running the classes every Wednesday and we are raring to go. This new Academy is a direct progression from the highly successful courses we have recently run in 3 Sutton schools, and we are happy to be able to provide regular classes for the area.

Parkour Italy has just revamped its entire website, helping to cater for the rapidly expanding parkour community in that part of Europe, so click the link to chaekc it out. We will be teaching in Rome next week, October 16/17th for the fundraising seminar Naoki's Day organised by Parkour Italy, from which all proceeds go to injured traceur Naoki Ishiyama's fund to help cover the costs of his treatment.

On Wednesday October 14th, Dan has been invited to speak at Winchester College's Studium Day and also to run an introductory workshop there for the students. Other speakers include Stephen Fry, Michael Howard MP, Lord Geddes and actor Richard O'Brien. A truly venerable college, Winchester was founded in the 14th century and we are very happy to be bringing a taste of our art to the school. The speech and workshop will be at 10.50 and 12.00 respectively.

We are very happy to report that injured traceur Naoki Ishiyama, who underwent an operation in Japan a few days ago, is now back on his feet and entering the first stages of physical rehabilitation now - Naoki's story has been an inspirational one that has seen hundreds of practitioners in the UK and around the world put in huge support in his time of need. Parkour Italy have just highlighted a short video showing Naoki's amazing progress, which you can see here.

As of October 19th we will be starting a course of workshops for the rest of the year for Sports Academies, an innovative organisation that provides sporting outlets for 3-15 year olds during school holidays. The first four sessions will happen at the Sport Academy Hampstead in Cricklewood, north-west London and run from 9.30-12.30 on October 19/22/26/29 before branching out to occur in various sports centres across London. More details of those to follow in due course.

This Sunday, October 11th, we will be running free parkour workshops all day as part of the Royal parks Half Marathon charity event held in Hyde Park, London. This is the second year running that we have provided workshops for the event, which is always a huge success and a great day out in the park. This year we will also be providing the warm-up for the 'Pulse 3K' fun-run for children on the day, so good luck to those youngsters who will have Forrest for 10 minutes before their 3k run..!

Its great to be able to announce that we are now able to sell digital downloads through our new store. Our first ever download is available now in MPEG4 (M4V) format (Compatible with iTunes and Quicktime player) and you can purchase the 27 minute compilation video of the first three Rendezvous events which were filmed by Julie Angel for only £1.89! This is an absolute bargain to see a slice of Julie's amazing work and grab a glimpse of the fantastic time had by everyone at the each of the events.

On top of our very popular and long-running academy classes, beginners, youth, womens and school workshops, the new weekend wake-up class seems to be becoming a big hit for all those wanting to get some structured training done on the Sunday morning between 11am and 1pm. Yesterday saw a great group of around twenty practitioners getting to grips with some cardio work, balancing, scaffolding movement, koalas and foot placement drills.

As the photos, footage and news comes in from around the world after the global One Giant Leap event we've just been stunned at the imagination, organisation and motivation everyone has displayed. Over the coming weeks Sandbag will be putting together a short campaign film using some of the photos and footage from around the world. To have your groups footage considered for this, please ensure any remaining material is sent across to onegiantleap@sandbag.org.uk as soon as possible.

Our Global Community project has been going from strength to strength recently and we are proud to introduce Bahrain, South Africa and Tunisia alongside the other 30+ countries already signed up. The project is to help bring the entire parkour community together and locate like-minded practitioners from your region and country.
