Trans-Atlantic Teaching

For the next 3 days Forrest will be teaching seminars in Columbus, Ohio for the Parkour Horizons collective. Forrest's trip to Columbus will be the start of a new collaborative effort between Parkour Horizons and Parkour Generations to offer world class parkour coaching in Ohio on a semi-regular basis. The seminars will be running on October 30th and 31st and November 1st.

Westminster Week

This half-term week has seen us snowed under with teaching duties for councils and social inclusion programmes all over the UK, with several of the team fully engaged with teaching for our longstanding partner, the City of Westminster. The Westminster Parkour Camp this week ran every day from 10am-1pm at Westminster Academy Sports Centre, and we had regular Edutain session for the Positive Futures programme ongoing as well. Everything went smoothly, with great turnout and enthusiasm from the young people.. and now it's back to the schools as of next week.

New Sutton class is a hit!

Coaches Andy and Alli have just come back from the brand new Sutton class located at the Westcroft Leisure Centre in Carshalton. From all accounts the two one-and-half hour lessons were a huge success with over twenty five people turning up to the introductory session. The first lesson at 4pm is open to anyone under the age of 16, followed by a second class for over 16s from 5.30pm every Wednesday. If you're in the area, why not head over to the class and give it a try!

London Jam: Off The Wall!

This Sunday, October 25th, will see our monthly London Jam, Off the Wall, taking place at Waterloo's IMAX training location from 12pm onwards (beside the Imax cinema just outside Waterloo train station). These jams are open to absolutely anyone and are a great way to meet other traceurs, share training tips and advice, and learn from those more experienced in a relaxed and fun setting. These jams are not structured training, so please just turn up, have some fun, and train safely!

Our signature Outdoor Classes are thriving, with many of the Parkour Generations Team giving of their time and knowledge every week and now that the nights draw in the classes gain that special atmosphere that comes from training in low-light conditions and sometimes in challenging weather conditions..! Both days were blessed with great weather and fantastic spirit from all who took part - and the result was over £1100 raised for injured traceur Naoki Ishiyama! Women's Jam: Sunday October 18th

This Sunday will see the Women's Jam in full flow, starting at 12.00 and held at the Elephant and Castle training location. The Jam meets outside Elephant and Castle tube station, in front of the big red shopping centre, and from there will go to the training location behind the centre. Open to any and all women of all levels of ability and experience, the Women's Jamas are a great way to get together with like-minded practitioners to share training tips, advice, methods and generally have a great day of practice!

Denmark Seminar: Street Camp IV

Sutton Academy To Commence

A weekly Parkour Academy will be starting up in Carshalton, Sutton as of Wednesday October 28th. The two classes will run at Westcroft Leisure Centre from 4-5.30pm for under 16s and 5.30-7.00pm for over 16s. Two Parkour Generations instructors will be running the classes every Wednesday and we are raring to go. This new Academy is a direct progression from the highly successful courses we have recently run in 3 Sutton schools, and we are happy to be able to provide regular classes for the area.

Winchester College Studium Day

On Wednesday October 14th, Dan has been invited to speak at Winchester College's Studium Day and also to run an introductory workshop there for the students. Other speakers include Stephen Fry, Michael Howard MP, Lord Geddes and actor Richard O'Brien. A truly venerable college, Winchester was founded in the 14th century and we are very happy to be bringing a taste of our art to the school. The speech and workshop will be at 10.50 and 12.00 respectively.

Naoki Back On His Feet!

We are very happy to report that injured traceur Naoki Ishiyama, who underwent an operation in Japan a few days ago, is now back on his feet and entering the first stages of physical rehabilitation now - Naoki's story has been an inspirational one that has seen hundreds of practitioners in the UK and around the world put in huge support in his time of need. Sports Academies Workshops

As of October 19th we will be starting a course of workshops for the rest of the year for Sports Academies, an innovative organisation that provides sporting outlets for 3-15 year olds during school holidays. The first four sessions will happen at the Sport Academy Hampstead in Cricklewood, north-west London and run from 9.30-12.30 on October 19/22/26/29 before branching out to occur in various sports centres across London. Royal Parks Half Marathon Event

This Sunday, October 11th, we will be running free parkour workshops all day as part of the Royal parks Half Marathon charity event held in Hyde Park, London. This is the second year running that we have provided workshops for the event, which is always a huge success and a great day out in the park. This year we will also be providing the warm-up for the 'Pulse 3K' fun-run for children on the day, so good luck to those youngsters who will have Forrest for 10 minutes before their 3k run..!

Weekend classes taking off!

On top of our very popular and long-running academy classes, beginners, youth, womens and school workshops, the new weekend wake-up class seems to be becoming a big hit for all those wanting to get some structured training done on the Sunday morning between 11am and 1pm. Yesterday saw a great group of around twenty practitioners getting to grips with some cardio work, balancing, scaffolding movement, koalas and foot placement drills.
