Edition 6 of our worldwide SPIKED parkour and action sports magazine is now available to buy online. This edition focuses on inspirational women in sport, with some great coverage of one of our own female athletes - Annty Marais.

This coming Monday, August 30th, our regular Indoor Classes at Moberly Sports Centre and Optimal Life Fitness Centre in London will be cancelled due to the centres being closed for the Bank Holiday. Classes resume as normal on Tuesday 31st August.

This week has concluded another successful Wesminster Sports Unit Parkour Camp with many of our youth practitioners getting stuck in and giving it their all. Next week will continue with the ever-popular Edutain programme which helps to teach inner-city kids the fundamentals of our discipline. For more information head over to our workshop section HERE.

From the 3-6th September we will be running some training sessions in Columbus, Ohio, culminating in the Labor Day Seminar on September 6th. Today is the last day for registration on the Outdoor Classes we will be leading there on September 3rd and 4th, so hop on over to the Parkour Horizons site to register and you may get lucky. We are looking forward to being back in the United States next week to deliver the first ADAPT instructor qualification course in North America, and hope to see many of you at the training sessions.

Unfortunately, due to unforseen circumstances we are changing the location of both the Weekend Wakeup Class and the Off the Wall Jam to Elephant and Castle. For the class, please be outside the shopping centre exit of E&C tube at 11am. The Jam will start from 1.30pm (also meeting outside the same tube station) after the class. Sorry for the confusion!

Our monthly 'Off the Wall' Jam this Sunday 29th August will be held at Abbey road from 1.30pm. People who wish to come along should meet outside the Kilburn Park tube station ready to run over to the spot. Otherwise, for any others who know the location of the training area, please feel free to meet at the estate. Note that the Weekend Wakeup class will also be held at the same location, so please also meet outside the Kilburn park tube station from 11am ready to move on to the running tracks in Paddington Rec.

It's a sad day in the parkour community whenever we hear that councils and authorities decide to take action against our discipline in their local areas, but it's with complete shock that today we have to report that 'Parkour' has been banned in the Battery Area and surrounding locale within New York City. Frankly we cannot understand how an authority can seriously try to ban any type of physical activities that encourages health, good living and is very vocal in promoting a respect for all surroundings and environment.

All this weekend we will be teaching workshops at the Just So Festival in Staffordshire, UK. The event is a boutique, weekend-long festival of creativity aimed at children, young people and their families, set in the beautiful countryside of Staffordshire and we are looking forward to bringing parkour to the party.

Tomorrow the team flies out to Morzine, France, for our third annual summer training camp in the Alpine resort. The event has been a great success, and is again a week-long camp packed with intensive training, fun activities and the beautiful terrain of the French Alps. This year the instructors on site will be Stephane Vigroux and Blane, with Naomi also present to lend a hand. More details can be found HERE. Last month we ran a two-day seminar in Belo Horizonte, Brasil, in conjunction with our good friends at PKMax. The first two video edits of the seminar are now online, created and edited by Bruno Peixoto of PKMax, and can be seen as Part One and Part Two. During the seminar Dan, Stephane and Blane were assisted by a group of Brasilian ADAPT candidates who all did an incredible job of coaching throughout.

We were lucky enough to have our renowned photographer Andy 'Kiell' Day attend the Night Training element of our recent Rendezvous 5 event, and he has produced an incredible gallery of images as a result. Jump across to his website HERE! to see the results. Fantastic stuff.

Today team members Stephane and Alli are shooting a poster and viral video campaign for Harrods, which will be seen on screens in the Harrods store and on the web. The shoot is happening in central London, and we are very happy to be working with excellent photographer Adrian Myers again on this project. Results should be outstanding knowing Adrian's work, and we'll put up links and more details as we have them.

Recently we did a shoot for Channel 5's The Gadget Show, filming parkour with a 3D camera for the first time in history. That show, featuring team member Dom Willoughby, airs tonight at 8pm on Channel 5. Well worth tuning into...

Rendezvous 5 is now finished, and this year's event was an absolute cracker! Two days of hard training, huge smiles, great energy and endless antics with practitioners and coaches from all over the UK and from around the world. A pleasure as ever to have the Yamakasi founders and Majestic Force in town for the fun, this time Chau, Laurent and Sebastien all bringing their own special energy to the training.

With Day One of this year's Rendezvous gathering in the bag, we can safely say it is turning out to be one hell of an event. Great energy from everyone involved, a pleasure as always to have the Yamakasi founders and Majestic Force team over, and great commitment from all the participants. Some incredible photos and video footage have been captured today and we'll have some galleries up soon, and a Julie Angel edit will appear once the smoke clears..!

So it's here at last again, the annual training extravaganza known as Rendezvous 5 kicks off tomorrow at 9am at the Southbank Centre in central London. The event is more than full now and we can't take any more bookings, and several of the Yamakasi founders are already in town ready to bring their unique spirit, skills and knowledge to the event. With incredibly experienced practitioners and coaches coming from all over the UK and the world to take part, we know this year is going to be at least as much fun as the last one...

A little reminder for all students that the Friday outdoor class and the Weekend Wakeup class on Sunday will not be on due to our annualRendezvous 5 event. With our annual gathering Rendezvous 5 coming up this weekend, the Yamakasi founders begin arriving today in London. Thursday evening's Academy Class may even have a surprise guest or two, so keep your eyes peeled...

All this week we are running another one of our Summer Parkour Camps for the City of Westminster. The sessions are open to all young people and are held between 10am-1pm every day at Moberly Sports Centre, 101 Kilburn Lane, London W10 4AH. always full of energy and fun training, the camps have proven a great success year in, year out, and we look forward to continuing them next year too.

Due to the incredible demand in the USA for places on our upcoming ADAPT Level 1 Instructor Qualification Course next month, we have decided to bring out a third course tutor - Chris Keighley - in order to be able to take a further ten people. It's now fully booked and we can take no more this time around, but we hope to be back in the States soon to cater for those who were unable to get a place on this one. The course runs from September 2-6 and will be held in Columbus, Ohio, hosted by local organisation Parkour Horizons.

Next week a new play will be opening in London, called Next Door, produced by Faith Drama. The play will feature parkour throughout and Team Member Brian plays a heavy part both on stage and in terms of choreographing the movement. The play runs from 17-28 August at the Cockpit Theatre, Gateforth Street, London NW8 8EH.

For the next four weeks solid we are running regular workshops in the week for the Edutain Programme of the City of Westminster. Edutain is a social inclusion project that gives young people in disadvantaged inner city areas a chance to engage with physical activity and sport on a regular and meaningful basis.

Following May's amazing American Rendezvous event in Ohio, USA, where a team of eleven from Parkour Generations and Yamakasi founders went out to run the first Rendezvous Stateside in conjunction with Parkour Horizons, Julie Angel has now released two edits showing some initial footage and capturing the vibe of the three-day event.

Recently Matt Walton, editor of Spiked Parkour Magazine, has spent a little time in London taking his first steps in parkour training with Stephane and Dan. Matt's team have put together this short edit called First Steps showing some of the training, which Matt threw himself into with great enthusiasm and energy. Matt's background is in Muay Thai Boxing, and he relished the chance to get to grips with a whole new discipline despite the fact he was still recovering from a fairly serious hand injury! Well worth a watch.

Tomorrow, Sunday, sees this month's open Women's Jam happening in Elephant and Castle. The Jams are free events, open to any and all female practitioners or beginners, and provide a great environment in which to exchange ideas and methods, get tips from others and make connections with practitioners from all over the UK. A couple of our team are always on hand to help out, and we offer a fun warm-up before the jam for any who want to jump in.

Today we are delivering a day of free workshops as part of Pro-Active London's 'Unity in the Community' event at Paddington Recreation Ground, from 9.30am-4.00pm. The event is in partnership with Westminster Sports Unit and London StreetGames who will be offering a range of free sports for all under 16 year olds to try. For more information click here. Today sees us teaching at Scotland's first National Parkour event in Glasgow, Roots Of Movement. The is a chance for traceurs old and new to come together to share a day of challenging training for any level of practitioner. The event will be hosted by Glasgow Parkour Coaching, and Blane and Yao from the Team have been invited to teach throughout the day.

Film-maker Julie Angel has just released a new mini-edit focussing on some of the teaching given by Yamakasi founder Williams Belle at last year's Rendezvous 4. The film, Back to Basics, is a rare insight into Williams' knowledge and approach, and anyone who has been lucky enough to train with the man knows just how accomplished he is in the art.

Next month we will be running workshops at Sweden's Uppsala Parkour Girls' Gathering on September 18th and 19th. The first day is open workshops for women only, being run by Dan, Naomi and Annty, with the second day being a training day for both men and women. The event should be great fun and good training with many of the fine people from the Swedish community being present. For more details, hit the link above.

The next edition of the worldwide parkour and action sports magazine SPIKED will be out at the end of August and will have a key focus on women in sport. This edition will feature one of the leading ladies within the parkour community, our very own Annty Marais.

On 17th of July we ran a workshop at the English National Ballet, where Ballet and Parkour met for the first time. For more details of the results head over to the website here. We would like to thank Daniel Jones for making it all happen. On Sunday August 1st Forrest further introduced some parkour skills into the dance world by running another workshop in Northampton organised by Northants Dance, where local dancers and dance teachers participated with great spirit.

This is the second week that we are running a daily open Parkour Camp for Camden Council's Summer University programme. the sessions run from 10am to 1pm every day at Haverstock school in Northwest London, and full details can be found at the link above for the council's Camden Activity Zone.

Today sees the start of the latest 1st4Sport ADAPT Level One instructor qualification course in London, administered by the national governing body Parkour UK. The course runs for the whole week at Moberly Sports Centre and is fully booked, with practitioners attending from America, Brasil, Russia and all over the UK.
