Bank Holiday: No Classes

This coming Monday, August 30th, our regular Indoor Classes at Moberly Sports Centre and Optimal Life Fitness Centre in London will be cancelled due to the centres being closed for the Bank Holiday. Classes resume as normal on Tuesday 31st August.

This week has concluded another successful Wesminster Sports Unit Parkour Camp with many of our youth practitioners getting stuck in and giving it their all. USA Labor Day Seminar

From the 3-6th September we will be running some training sessions in Columbus, Ohio, culminating in the Labor Day Seminar on September 6th. Today is the last day for registration on the Outdoor Classes we will be leading there on September 3rd and 4th, so hop on over to the Parkour Horizons site to register and you may get lucky. We are looking forward to being back in the United States next week to deliver the first ADAPT instructor qualification course in North America, and hope to see many of you at the training sessions.

For the class, please be outside the shopping centre exit of E&C tube at 11am. The Jam will start from 1.30pm (also meeting outside the same tube station) after the class. Sorry for the confusion!

Our monthly 'Off the Wall' Jam this Sunday 29th August will be held at Abbey road from 1.30pm. People who wish to come along should meet outside the Kilburn Park tube station ready to run over to the spot. Otherwise, for any others who know the location of the training area, please feel free to meet at the estate. Note that the Weekend Wakeup class will also be held at the same location, so please also meet outside the Kilburn park tube station from 11am ready to move on to the running tracks in Paddington Rec.

Parkour banned in NYC.

It's a sad day in the parkour community whenever we hear that councils and authorities decide to take action against our discipline in their local areas, but it's with complete shock that today we have to report that 'Parkour' has been banned in the Battery Area and surrounding locale within New York City. Frankly we cannot understand how an authority can seriously try to ban any type of physical activities that encourages health, good living and is very vocal in promoting a respect for all surroundings and environment.

Morzine Parkour Camp: 21-28

Tomorrow the team flies out to Morzine, France, for our third annual summer training camp in the Alpine resort. The event has been a great success, and is again a week-long camp packed with intensive training, fun activities and the beautiful terrain of the French Alps. This year the instructors on site will be Stephane Vigroux and Blane, with Naomi also present to lend a hand. More details can be found HERE. Brazil Seminar Videos

Last month we ran a two-day seminar in Belo Horizonte, Brasil, in conjunction with our good friends at PKMax. The first two video edits of the seminar are now online, created and edited by Bruno Peixoto of PKMax, and can be seen as Part One and Part Two. During the seminar Dan, Stephane and Blane were assisted by a group of Brasilian ADAPT candidates who all did an incredible job of coaching throughout.

Harrods Shoot Today

Today team members Stephane and Alli are shooting a poster and viral video campaign for Harrods, which will be seen on screens in the Harrods store and on the web. The shoot is happening in central London, and we are very happy to be working with excellent photographer Adrian Myers again on this project. Westminster Summer Camp: August 9-13

All this week we are running another one of our Summer Parkour Camps for the City of Westminster. The sessions are open to all young people and are held between 10am-1pm every day at Moberly Sports Centre, 101 Kilburn Lane, London W10 4AH. always full of energy and fun training, the camps have proven a great success year in, year out, and we look forward to continuing them next year too.

ADAPT USA: Extended!

Due to the incredible demand in the USA for places on our upcoming ADAPT Level 1 Instructor Qualification Course next month, we have decided to bring out a third course tutor - Chris Keighley - in order to be able to take a further ten people. It's now fully booked and we can take no more this time around, but we hope to be back in the States soon to cater for those who were unable to get a place on this one. The course runs from September 2-6 and will be held in Columbus, Ohio, hosted by local organisation Parkour Horizons.

Next week a new play will be opening in London, called Next Door, produced by Faith Drama. The play will feature parkour throughout and Team Member Brian plays a heavy part both on stage and in terms of choreographing the movement. Spiked: First Steps Video

Recently Matt Walton, editor of Spiked Parkour Magazine, has spent a little time in London taking his first steps in parkour training with Stephane and Dan. Matt's team have put together this short edit called First Steps showing some of the training, which Matt threw himself into with great enthusiasm and energy. Matt's background is in Muay Thai Boxing, and he relished the chance to get to grips with a whole new discipline despite the fact he was still recovering from a fairly serious hand injury! Well worth a watch.

Ballet & Parkour Meet...
