Well, it's been one hell of a year for us and for parkour - and as we tip our caps to 2011 while it dwindles into the distance, we look 2012 sqaure in the eye and greet it with the respect and honour it is due.. Because we can tell you now, 2012 is going to be the BIggest. Year. Yet. for this wonderful discipline of parkour...  

We're very happy to announce the return for July 2012 of the now-legendary Morzine Residential Parkour Training Camp... and this time we are running two consecutive week-long courses! 

The first 2012 Outdoor Classes are now online and available for booking throughout January 2012. 

So now that you've stacked up on mince pies and turkey and those little sausages wrapped in bacon that everybody loves, it's time to start thinking about getting back into training for 2012, old-skool... And to help you do that, we're laying on a brand new, start-of-the-year training event in London to kick-start the process! It's called WINTERVAL, and it hits town on January 8th, and it's now booking up fast...

Well, 2011 is drawing to a close and it's been quite a year for parkour, again!

A few weeks back some of our Performance Team worked with Yamakasi founder Seb Foucan on ITV's brand new charity fundraiser show, TEXT SANTA, creating a fun little piece to promote the highly worthwhile campaign. 

Members of the Performance Team have just finished shooting a commercial for BT's GO GREEN campaign, which will be shown on the big screens that will be dotted around London during the Olympics in the summer of 2012. 

The campaign focuses on raising awareness of environmental issues, part of a huge push in that direction for London 2012, and we're happy to be supporting it and helping make it a reality.

Last weekend saw the launch of ITV's new festive charity fundraiser show, Text Santa. PKGen lent a hand to the launch by providing our Performance Team for a high-profile shoot showcasing a 'new' kind of Santa who has an innovative manner of delivering his usual gift bonanza...

Due to the holiday season coming up and most of our indoor venues shutting, we will be stopping all classes from Friday 23rd December 2011 and recommencing with the Advanced Class on Tuesday 3rd January 2012.

We've just finished shooting a music video for Japanese band Colors, which has proven to be a fun and engaging project; the video features Developing Athlete Serg Abramenkov and Affiliate Coach Lyudmil Ivanov in action as well as getting up to some antics in the non-parkour scenes.

We are lucky in our discipline in that many talented photographers are eager to shoot us in action. Some are even Traceurs or Traceuses themselves. For the last few months some of the more eagle-eyed of you may have noticed the web team have been beavering away at a brand new online store for Parkour Generations garments. Just in time for Christmas the store has finished its renovations and is ready to go!

Included with the new store portal there are a few new upgrades, including:

On December 12th in Potters Fields, London, we will be helping to launch the Blu-Ray and DVD releases of Hollywood blockbuster The Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

The event will be an open-access day of training on a purpose-built structure which resembles the apes' enclosure in the movie. Five of our team - Forrest, Blane, Dom, Andy and Kevin - will be on site throughout the day to inspire through movement and explore the potential of ape-like movement in particular. 

So now we get down to the meat n' bones... the ADAPT Level 2 coaching qualification assessments, which run from Monday-Wednesday next week in London. 

After months, nay - years, of planning and preparation, construction and tweaking, London's first and the world's largest purpose built parkour park is now ready to launch!

Last year, veteran of the UK scene and Parkour Generations Affiliate Coach Johnny 'Sticky' Budden completed an incredible challenge of running 1000 miles from the northern tip of Britain to Paris, in just a few weeks, in order to raise awareness and funds for motor neurone disease.
