As well as our burgeoning Youth Academy class on Friday nights we have now begun a new Youth class at the Queen Mother Sports Centre near Victoria station. The new class runs on Thursdays between 4:30pm and 6:30pm and is free to Westminster residents or £5 to non-residents. More details can be found in our classes section along with a downloadable consent form which is needed prior to participation.

After a successful run at the UK's biggest photography festival, our very own photographer and team-member Andy 'Kiell' Day's exhibition on Parkour photography has now moved to 'The Public' gallery in West Bromwich. His extraordinary photos can be viewed for free from now until the 20th May, so if you are nearby go check them out while you have the chance.

The hugely anticipated staple in Parkour footwear is finally back and Parkour Generations is providing EXCLUSIVE International Shipping to any overseas practitioners wanting to buy the exclusive one-of-a-kind Vision shoe. Born from the successful, but discontinued, Kalenji trainer that proved to be a world-wide phenomenon within the Parkour community, the Visions are the same trainer but with some additional improvements to specifically focus on the way a traceur/traceuse will use the shoe.

Secret Cinema's latest project ended last week and we had and an amazing experience providing Parkour action for the show's two month sold-out run. Secret Cinema encourages its audience members to get involved in the experience by becoming part of the show. They are kept guessing which film they will be seeing at the end of the experience but become part of the movie as they are immersed in the recreated set and interact with the films main protaganists.

Since the start of this year, and as a follow-on to the raft of physiological and biomechanical studies we did with Roehampton University in 2010/11, we have been engaged in a new study with Birmingham University who are using parkour to try to understand the mechanics of how large primates, such as orang-utans, actually move through the canopy of a rainforest. 

Just a reminder that the Weekend Wakeup class this Sunday from 11am to 1pm is being held at Archway. Open to all abilities and over 14 years of age. Please meet outside the Archway tube station at least five minutes early, ready to run.

Late last year we launched our Asian headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand, under the supervision of Le Singe himself - Stephane Vigroux. And so far it has made quite a splash over there...

Some of the more eagle-eyed of you may have noticed a new addition to the ranks of the core team web-page last week. We hope you will join us to officially welcome fantastic traceuse and practitioner to the Parkour Generations Family, Miss Fizz Hood.

As well as being a key figure at the women's classes and jams, Fizz also regularly contributes to the online blog, website news and is always out and about with the team and community. 

We're very happy to unveil our brand new website frontpage that has had a few cosmetic changes and a bit of a tune-up.

As well as all the exisiting information that was on the website you will also now find quick links to all of our social media profiles, highlights on the latest projects we're working on, our current twitter feed featuring the #PKGWOD and #PKGWWOD, a whole section for the news as well as many other bits and pieces that have been added.

We have collected and stocked the new Vision Parkour shoe ready for the official release on Sunday 29th Jan 2012 and to celebrate the launch of the most popular parkour shoe around the world, we are giving one pair away for free! 

Our monthly 'Off the Wall' Jam returns on the 29th January at the Oval spot in South London. Meet outside Oval station on the Northern line at 12 midday and you will be led to the spot by a member of the team. There will then be a thorough warm up and you can explore the spot!

Earlier this month saw the first annual Winterval Training Day event happen on London's brand new and world record-breaking parkour park, LEAP.

This year we will again be running the American Rendezvous 3-day training extravaganza in Columbus, Ohio in the United States, this year falling on May 26-28. 

We're happy to now be able to annouce the dates for the 2012 ADAPT 1st4Sport Level 2 coaching qualification courses, administered by NGB Parkour UK in London.

Decathlon UK has just received the stock for the brand new VISION parkour shoe, which goes on sale Monday January 30th in UK stores. 

The classic shoe, a re-release of the old Success which was by far the most popular shoe amongst practitioners around the world, has been brought back due to a collaborative effort with our national governing body Parkour UK and Decathlon and will be sold at the very low price of £16.99 at the UK stores.

As our Asian operation, Parkour Generations Asia, continues to develop under the guidance of Stephane Vigroux, a number of the team are currently out in Thailand where we are based working on a few projects. 

We're currently working with the Freedom Theatre group in Palestine, bringing parkour to a live show of street theatre that promises to be quite unprecedented and impactful in the troubled country. 

Sport Relief is back! And once again we are partnering with the charity in order to bring the power of the parkour community behind this very worthy cause.

Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get active, raise cash and change lives. All the money raised is spent by Comic Relief to help change lives across the UK and in the world's poorest countries. 

As of next week, Thursday 26th January, we will be restarting the outdoor DISCOVERY CLASS in central London!

Update just in from Parkour UK: we can now confirm that Decathlon UK have received the stock of the new Vision Parkour/Freerunning shoe, which marks the rebirth of the most popular parkour shoe to date.

Tomorrow, Saturday January 14th, sees our Family Parkour Class recommence for 2012.

We're happy to announce the start of a new project to establish a permanent and completely unique Parkour Generations Academy building in Bedford, the Twinwoods Academy. 

Last year our very own photographic wizard, Andy 'Kiell' Day, was asked by the prestigious Hereford Photography Festival to put on a solo exhibition of his work. He did so, very successfully, and that exhibition is now going on tour!

Last week saw the opening of LEAP, London's first and the world's largest managed parkour training facility. At the launch day, Westminster's news team caught up with Dan to explain a little bit about it. 

This month we will be spending ten days in Palestine working with a fantastic international theatre company from Portugal, CCTAR, training and choreographing a group of street theatre performers to include a powerful parkour element in a new show.

Happy New Year!  I hope 2012 is treating you just glorious so far and lovely christmasses were had by all.  The new year is kicking off in style with various parkouring extravaganzas...  Ordinarily on the second Sunday, for January the fabulous Women's Jam has been pushed back a week to make space for the brand spangly new PKG Winterval - about which, more info here!

As most of the regular students will know, we are holding our first ever annual 'Winterval' event tomorrow at Westminster Academy. Due to this event and every instructor being all-hands-on-deck at the seminar, the weekend wakeup class will not be on.

We will be restarting the class with the first one of the year next Sunday at Elephant and Castle. If you're attending Winterval, we'll see you there!

So here it is... WINTERVAL! The inaugural Winter training day to kick-start your year of practice in traditional, old-skool style: cold, concrete, metal, movement and suffering... in the best possible way ;)

We have now announced the forthcoming London ADAPT 1st4sport Level 1 Award in Coaching Parkour / Freerunning Courses, administered by Parkour UK and delivered by Parkour Generations. The details of these courses can be found below and on the site HERE.

Today's launch of our brand new L.E.A.P training facility in London was a huge success, with dignitaries attending form the Lord Mayor's office, the Cabinet office, City of Westminster, Sport England, London 2012 and more, along with a host of press and camera-people. 

The world's largest managed parkour training facility, London's L.E.A.P. Park, has its official launch this week on Friday 6th January. 

Seb Foucan, one of the discipline's founding practitioners, will be swapping his trainers for ice skates this year as he appears on ITV's Dancing on Ice..!

The show runs every Sunday on ITV in the evenings, and should prove.. erm.. entertaining! Seb has enjoyed the training process thus far, and is confident he will at least give it his best shot. Good luck to him! 

So, now that the smoke is clearing and the dust is settling in the aftermath of the festive season... it's back to business! The Parkour Generations London Academy Classes restart this week and our first class of the year just happens to be the Advanced Class, Tuesday, 3rd January 2012.

Tomorrow, January 2nd, our very own Annty Marais leaves the UK to begin a year-long trip around the world to meet and train with parkour communities everywhere.
