This week sees the first ever ADAPT coaching qualification course being run in Canada, in the city of Quebec. 

Tutors Dan Edwardes and Chris 'Blane' Rowat are leading the Level 1 Asistant Coach course, which has its assessment day on Thursday 31st May. The course is full of strong candidates with a passion for communicating and passing on the discipline.

Dairy Crest Commercial

Parkour Generations recently completed a video and photo shoot organised, filmed and edited by leading premium brand marketing agency Hudson Wright Associates for client Dairy Crest. Alongside our parkour photographer, Kiell, the filmmakers recorded team members Steve, Leon, Pete, Kevin and Dom doing their stuff at some of the infamous London training hotspots to promote a range of Dairy Crest products.

Norway Trip

A small group of practitioners from London including our very own Leon Lawrence and Stephen Moss have just returned from a trip to Norway where they trained with Stord Parkour in Leirvik. Stord Parkour is run by Gareth Whittaker who teaches on a regular basis at schools using his ADAPT qualification. Gareth also runs adult classes at various spots in the town.

The article, entitled 'Alternatives to the gym: ten of London's best unusual workouts', states something that every Traceur and Traceuse knows: Parkour is a 'workout so varied the fitness benefits are obvious'.

The Philippines own National Jam was hosted by Parkour Sugbo a few weeks ago and affiliate coach John Conway was invited to coach. Off the Wall - May

As the weather is due to be a hot one, we will meet up at Hampstead station on the Northern line at 12 midday. From there we will move on to explore Hampstead Heath for some tree training/climbing and general mayhem. Make sure you are on time as once we are on the heath it will be hard to find us!

Organised by our friends over at StreetMovement, the annual StreetCamp event is for younger practitioners who come out to train at the Gerlev Sports Academy over the course of a few days. This year saw team member James Gore heading over to Denmark to give the kids some new additional parkour skills to their repertoire and have a play on the awesome facilities the StreetMovement guys have built over there.

USA ADAPT - Starts today!

Director Dan Edwardes and Senior Instructor Chris 'Blane' Rowat are currently out in Columbus, Ohio ahead of the US Rendezvous event to deliver the level 1 ADAPT qualification course to the new batch of aspiring Parkour coaches. The three day course covers the essential points of becoming an assistant coach and requires the participants to learn about many different topics surrounding the discipline as well as the important aspects of teaching and coaching as a skill.

Ecce Parkour, Italy!

Over the last few days a four man Parkour Generations contingent consisting of team members Brian Obeng, Chris Keighley, Pete McKee and Leon Lawrence have been leading parkour workshops right on the doorsteps of the Vatican, Rome, for the Italian national event, Ecce Parkour.

From all reports, everyone had an amazing time on the purpose built parkour structure built in the Piazza del Risorgimento, just outside the Vatican.

Today we took part in an event run by Sportinspired called the 'Community Games'. The idea is simple: local schools compete against one another in a 'sports day' where they are encouraged to try new sports. As PK is non-competitive we had to be a little inventive, but it seemed that the kids enjoyed it (judging by the noise) and it was deemed a success by all involved. A couple of photos of the event showing our obstacle course are attached.

J Lo does Parkour! (Maybe)

A newly-released music video 'Follow the Leader' by Puerto Rican duo Wisin and Yandel features some great Parkour in a huge chase scene. The artists themselves (featuring J-Lo) are chased through the streets of Acapulco, Mexico by a large group of skilled Traceurs for no apparent reason as far as we can tell.
