Amid my "extended family" in Aracaju at the 4th annual Northeast Jam.

After the adventures in Chile that I mentioned in the last post, I flew from Santiago to Rio de Janiero, Brazil to start my two month exploration of that amazing country.  The trip started with a few days in Rio to adjust to the new culture, new language (I’d been speaking various forms of Spanish for the previous 2 months), REALLY hot weather, and to finalize my itinerary for the trip, which ended up including 1-week stays in Rio de Janiero, Florianopolis, Balneário Camboriú, Curitiba, Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Salvador, and Aracaju.

Invisible joys

We all do it, no matter our age, gender or nationality. It can change every second but often falls into a rhythm. It can be short, fast, long or slow. Some of us force it outwards or hold it back. Many of us are unaware of it as we go about our day to day activities. But if you're reading this post, then you're certainly doing it now.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

We know that breathing is essential, our body does so unconsciously which means that we never have to think about it. Yet our breathing is linked to our emotional and mental state.
