Back at the end of May at American Rendezvous 2, Dan held a module “Breaking Jumps: Psychology of Conquering Fears”. The aim of the module was to have each person attending find a single jump that would bring out the fear. The module was excellent and really illustrated the important of pushing one's comfort zone.

Breaking Jumps and training Solo

Authored by admin on Thursday 04

First let me introduce myself, my name is Leon and I've been training for almost four years now. Sounds like something from Alcoholics Anonymous but hey, we all have a story to tell, let me get straight to the point.
I'd like to talk about training solo. Most people find this boring to do, hard to find the self motivation, miss the social aspect of Parkour, maybe the team aspect of it, but unlike football and other team sports where everyone has their own role to play, in Parkour the onus is on you..

Putting Rest To Bed

Authored by admin on Monday 22

Rest allows the body time to repair and adapt to the stresses put on it through training. Rest will make you stronger and help injuries recover. Without getting too flowery, it is the yin to training's yang (or In to Yo ;) ), the soft to the hard, parasympathetic to sympathetic. Fundamentally it is required for healthy functioning of the body. We pay it lip service, saying we know how important it is, scheduling every Saturday as a rest day (and maybe Wednesday if it has been an especially hard week), time to play Xbox, catch up with friends and family.
