London 2012 Display: UPDATE

Today's display in front of a live audience of ten thousand at Trafalgar Square went down a storm, with the performance team working very hard under high-pressure conditions to put together a great show for both the public in the Square and the millions watching on BBC TV. Tomorrow, Wednesday 27th July, sees the London 2012 'One Year To Go Celebration Event'‏ taking place in London's Trafalgar Square. Parkour UK, as a 2012 Inspire Mark project, will be present throughout the event and Parkour Generations will be providing a full, live display of parkour on the mainstage during the evening show. The parkour display will kick off at 18.30.

This weekend PKG team members Chris, Kristian and Andy were on hand at the London film and Comic Convention at Earls Court to help out international stunt coordinator heavyweight, James Bamford with his stunt presentation to highlight Parkour and stage combat. With over 140 productions to his name, James is known for his work on movies from Watchmen, X-Men and Stargate to X-Files, AvP2 and Smallville.

LG Live Show

Tomorrow we begin rehearsals for the upcoming live display we are putting on for the launch of LG's latest innovation, the 'borderless' LED television. Very fancy bit of kit. The product launch will be held at the end of this week, with a four-man team performing what promises to be a high-octane show at the event. The team for this one consists of Blane, Thomas, Johann and Williams Belle, and choreography will be put together by Stephane. We'll be getting some behind-the-scenes footage which will no doubt find its way online at some stage.. ;)

Ashford Arts Parkour Performance

Over the past few weeks we have bee training and choreographing a body of young traceurs in Ashford, Kent, for a public performance that will bring the streets of the city of Ashford to life as part of the Ashford Arts and Architecture Festival, entitled Hidden Passages. A number of art works will form the 2009 Festival tomorrow, and will be coupled with an outdoor performance that draws together local groups in celebrating Ashford's Hidden Passages and the town's unique make up.

For the next few weekends we will be running specific parkour workshops for young people in Ashford, Kent in collaboration with a forthcoming festival to create a piece of choreographed outdoor work that will animate the spaces around Ashford town centre on 26 Sept as part of a dance music event.
