Even though we have our Rendezvous 2011 event this weekend we still have a small two-man team heading out to the deepest depths of Barnswood, Staffordshire to deliver daily workshops for the kids at the 'Just So Festival'.

All this weekend we will be teaching workshops at the Just So Festival in Staffordshire, UK. The event is a boutique, weekend-long festival of creativity aimed at children, young people and their families, set in the beautiful countryside of Staffordshire and we are looking forward to bringing parkour to the party.

We can now confirm that members of Parkour Generations will be providing workshops at the 'Just So Festival' later on in the year. To quote the description from the official website justsofestival.org.uk/ "Take your children on a journey of the imagination, an unforgetable weekend of adventure and enchantment set in sixty-five acres of ancient english woodland 20-22nd August 2010 at Barnswood, nr Leek, Staffordshire."

Over the past few weeks we have bee training and choreographing a body of young traceurs in Ashford, Kent, for a public performance that will bring the streets of the city of Ashford to life as part of the Ashford Arts and Architecture Festival, entitled Hidden Passages. A number of art works will form the 2009 Festival on September 26th, and will be coupled with an outdoor performance that draws together local groups in celebrating Ashford's Hidden Passages and the town's unique make up.

Ongoing at the moment is the Mayor's Story of London Festival, a month long celebration of London’s past, present and future. This pan-London jamboree showcases the city’s huge and glorious heritage, highlights many unique facets of its present day cultural offer and takes a sometimes fun, sometimes serious look at its future.

For the next two days we will be running comprehensive parkour workshops for Flixton Girls School in Trafford, with the sessions being led by both male and female instructors from our team. Consisting of both indoors and outdoors training the girls are sure to be put through their paces, and we know it will be a thoroughly enjoyable experience for all. Monday next week we will be running workshops and a demonstration at the world-famous Hay Literature Festival in the UK, as part of the launch of our new Handbook of Parkour/Freerunning. Dan, Stephane, Chris, Johann and Blane will be at the event all day, filming some pieces with SKY TV as well as running the workshops and demos.

On Friday 27th June we are running workshops at Rotherfield Primary School and on Friday 4th July we are at Newington Green Primary as part of the Healthy Living Festivals, which aim to promote the many benefits of active and healthy lifestyles. Getting children involved in the discipline from a young age has proven to be extremely powerful in encouraging in them a positive and health-oriented mindset, and is something we are very much supportive of.

This Saturday, May 31st, we will be running parkour workshops between 1-4pm at the Swindon Festival of Sport. Held at St Mark's Recreation Ground in Swindon, the Festival is focussed on providing physical activities for all sections of the community and this year will be the first time parkour has been included.
