New Film: Intentions...

A new short film from Julie Angel has just been released online, called Intentions... and can be seen here. The film is a motion montage captured when Julie accompanied some of the Parkour Generations collective during a few night training sessions over the summer in central London. We think it captures the almost tribal essence of these sessions, where there is little communication other than the experience of movement and the environment. Click the link above to watch.

PKGen Productions....

Today we ran two separate production units, one for the hit CBBC TV series 'MI High' and one for the forthcoming movie 'St Trinians 2', providing choreography, directing and stunt doubling on both projects for parkour action sequences. Both shoots went exceptionally well, with some great footage captured, and we were very happy to have Mike Christie of Jump London fame directing the St Trinians shoot and Julie Angel running the MI High shoot, with Dan and Stephane choreographing respectively.

Parkour Film in Powerlab Showcase

Team Members from Parkour Generations have been working with film-maker Karen Palmer to create a new shot film which will be showcased at London's Institute of Contemporary Arts this month as part of the PowerLab Showcase. 12 PowerLab participants will present their projects as 'works in progress', ranging from digital theatre, music, film, moving image to spoken word. The PowerLab Showcase is the result of a series of master classes and intensive labs for creative entrepreneurs and artists which have taken place over the last 9 months.

Oxdox Film Festival: April 28

Next week we will be running a workshop and demonstration day at the week-long Oxdox International Film Festival in Oxford, UK, where several of Julie Angel's films will be featured. The workshops will run from 12-5 on Tuesday 28th, and Julie and the team will also be holding a panel discussion on parkour and movie-making at the festival. 'Outside In' Film Award Finalist

Another of Julie Angel's short films is receiving further critical acclaim, this time her study of Parkour Generations Academy veteran Karen Palmer called 'Outside In' becoming a finalist for the Images of Black Women Film Festival Award. Judges for this award include the BBC, Channel Four, Film London, UK Film Council, Lionsgate Films and Time Out.
