Girls Jam : Sunday 14th.

Just a quick reminder about the monthly WOMENS JAM, which is going to take place on Sunday 14th of February, at Latimer Road. We will meet at 1pm outside Latimer Road tube station. For those of you that are new to the jams, they are free and relaxed training sessions for women only (though we regularly have a few male/female instructors kicking around for extra tips and advice). They usually last around 3hrs and are a great environment to train and share tips with like-minded ladies and have a laugh in the process!

Girls Jam: Sunday December 13

The last Girls Jam of 2009 will take place this weekend, Sunday December 13th, and will be held at the Elephant and Castle training location - the large, condemned estate behind the shopping centre at the tube station. The jam will start around midday and go on until no is left standing... Totally free, open to women of all levels of expereience and ability, from beginner to veteran, these Jams are a great way to meet like-minded practitioners and learn from the whole community.

Girls' Jam London: Sunday 10th May

This Sunday, 10th May, there will be a free Girls' Jam training day in London, meeting at Latimer Road tube station (Hammersmith and City Line) at 12pm. Open to any and all women, no matter their level of experience or ability, the Girl Jams are a great way for women to get together and train in a friendly, helpful environment. With many experienced practitioners there to share tips and advice on training, along with at least one Parkour Generations instructor on hand at all times, the Jams are well worth the tube fare! Girls' Empowerment Workshop: 4th March

Tomorrow sees the next in our round of Empowerment Day workshops for 14-19 year old women in London, this one being held in Putney College, Wandsworth, as we move around the boroughs. The Westminster day kicked off the programme in style, and a short edit of that day can be seen here. A six-strong team will be there to run the session, which kicks off at 11.30am at the college.

Girls Jam in London, Sunday September 14th

The September Girl Jam in London falls on Sunday 14th, and will be held in the Earlsfield training grounds. This one kicks off at the slightly later time of 2pm, and is open to women of all levels of ability and experience. A great way for beginners to learn the ropes from some of the most experienced female practitioners in the UK, and for those who kow what they are doing already the Girl Jams have proven an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and practise in a friendly, positive and relaxed environment.

Girls Jam in London, Sunday August 3rd

The next open women's jam is taking place on Sunday 3rd August. We will meet at Kilburn Park station at 12pm and head over to the spot from there... If you plan to come down, please let Tracey know so she can get an idea of numbers! For those of you that haven't been before, they are free sessions, open to all abilities, but are not classes. There are however, always people on hand for advice and training tips, and there are often a few male guest instructors kicking around! We start with a group warm-up and the session runs from 12-3pm.

These training days are open to all women and provide a great place to learn from more experienced practitioners in an all-female environment. Girls Active Day: UPDATE

Today saw the Girls Active Day go off with a bang in Leyton, East London, where Stephane, Tracey and Peter ran workshops for the girls all day long which were very well received. Organised in conjunction with Dame Kelly Holmes (seen here with Stephane and some of the coaches), the Olympic champion threw herself into the parkour workshops as well and soon displayed a strong natural talent! All in all a great event. Photos will be on the site soon, and there will now be more sessions to come at the SCORE centre venue in Leyton.

Girls Active Day - 21st Jan

Monday the 21st of January we will be running parkour workshops as part of the Girls Active sports day in Leyton's SCORE Centre with Dame Kelly Holmes. The event will give hundreds of girls the opportunity to train with some of our coaches and gain a solid introduction to the discipline in a pressure-free environment. With female participation in parkour growing all the time, this kind of event is just the sort of development we are very keen to support and promote.
