Next week we will be running two days of demonstrations and workshops for the finals weekend of the London Youth Games at Crystal Palace on the 4th and 5th of July. The London Youth Games are a unique season of events at the heart of youth sport in the Capital, involving all 33 London Boroughs and 26 National Governing Bodies. The Games are free and open to all young people, aged between 7 and 17, living in or going to school in the Capital.

Thursday 28th May we will be running a parkour taster day for the London Youth organisation, who are embracing the discipline as part of their new sports programme – ‘Getting Ready for 2012 and beyond’. London Youth is a vibrant network of more than 400 youth clubs serving 75,000 young people a year, and this event launches the project which will expand to reach many more youth clubs and young people across the capital.

Well done to all the Parkour Academy members who completed the London Marathon today - some good times! Congrats also to the Westminster Sports Unit team who ran, especially endurance athletes Eugene and Cory... great stuff guys. No excuses for missing out on Monday's Academy Class though, so rest while you can!

Today the London Winter of Sports Parkour Camp got underway, running every day from 10am to 1pm at Moberly Sports Centre. Two of our team will be coaching there every day, and the response has been huge on this first day with a great turnout from young people wanting to learn more about the discipline. Those attending the course can also qualify for the AQA Unit 1 in Parkour which we deliver for young people in schools and across the UK.

Sunday the 22nd of February sees the One Year Anniversary of our monthly Off The Wall jams, so we'll be heading back to where it all started in Latimer Road! We at Parkour Generations would like to take this moment to thank everyone that's made this happen month after month, and hope you can come down to share the vibe again this time.

One of the many courses we are running in February will be the London Winter of Sports programme for young people every day from 16-20 February at Moberly Sports Centre in Kilburn, London. The sessions run from 10am-1pm for those days, and we will be delivering the AQA Units 1 and 2 Accreditation in Parkour for those who attend the entire course. Alongside this for Westminster we will be running in February and April the Positive Futures Edutain programme across the borough.

On Sunday December 7th we will be holding a warm-up jam in London as we approach the annual international gathering Rendezvous 3 on December 13/14. As a prelude to the event which will be hosted by the Southbank Centre, this 'Off the Wall' jam will be held in the Southbank and Waterloo area, kicking off around midday. Open to absolutely anyone to attend, from beginners to veterans, the Off the Wall jams have become incredibly popular and great ways to meet the practising community and exchange ideas as well as having a blast!

This month's Off The Wall gathering is going to be a little odd... we won't be training in an established spot, but rather taking a journey through an area with some neat little training spots nearby... welcome to Edmonton. Anyone wanting to come along should meet at 12:15pm at Turnpike Lane tune station on the Piccadilly Line. We'll begin with a warm-up at the Great Cambridge Roundabout, and then spread out to the varied small training spots around the area... including a nice little river precision! The Royal Parks Half Marathon charity event is just around the corner, occurring this Sunday October 12th at Hyde Park in central London. A team from Parkour Generations will be running workshops throughout the event, in the sports and fitness Village within the park itself. If you don't feel up for running the half marathon itself, come down and try your hand at some freerunning instead..! All details for the event can be found on the Royal Parks website here.

A reminder that this month's Off The Wall open gathering will be held on Sunday June 29th in Greenwich. Although not a very well documented spot, its renowned for its elevated walls which lead up to one of the clearest views of London. To get there, we'll be meeting slightly earlier than usual at Lewisham Station as part of the Jam will be taking the journey to the station itself. For those that wish to, there's a long stretch of road along the way that can be taken with minimal need to touch the ground at all.
