Home of Champions...

Yesterday saw the start of our brand new North London Academy Class on Wednesday evenings at the amazing Lee Valley Athletics Centre in Edmonton, and it got off with a bang -the centre has graciously permitted our coaches to use anything at all within the grounds of the establishment, both indoors and out, and there is some fantastic training equipment there. It's the home of many of our national level athletes, and it's easy to see why.

Today we are delivering a day of free workshops as part of Pro-Active London's 'Unity in the Community' event at Paddington Recreation Ground, from 9.30am-4.00pm. The event is in partnership with Westminster Sports Unit and London StreetGames who will be offering a range of free sports for all under 16 year olds to try. For more information click here. It's free to take part and open to all young people, so come down and dive in ;)

London Youth Games

This weekend has seen members of the team down at Crystal Palace to support the London Youth Games 2010. The Balfour Beatty London Youth Games consist of 60 competitions in 30 different sports catering for all Londoners aged between 7 and 17. The team have been providing Parkour workshops to the athletes and supporters between all the competitions and raising awareness about our own discipline. South East London Academy Opens Today

The first class of the new South East London Academy begins tonight at the Optimal Life Fitness Training Centre in Hither Green (South East London), a few minutes by train from London Bridge. It's a classic training space, filled with kettle-bells, free weights, mixed martial arts and a purpose-built scaffolding for us to boot... Blane will be running the class from 7.30pm-9.00pm and it is open to anyone from complete beginners to veteran practitioners.

The jam kicks off outside Elephant and Castle tube station, meeting outside the Shopping Centre exit before heading down to the location. All are welcome, to train, hang out or share training tips and advice or simply to meet other like-minded practitioners. Some of the PKGen team are always on hand to lend a hand if required, and the jams are always fun, easy-going and good training.

London's Parkour Park...

Monday next week sees the final planning meeting on site before construction can begin on London's first parkour park, which will be built at the Westminster Academy Sports Centre on the Harrow Road. Entirely designed by the most experienced practitioners and design team from Parkour Generations, this park will set the standard for purpose-built training facilities and will provide a great space for large seminars, classes, and events.
