It's a sad day in the parkour community whenever we hear that councils and authorities decide to take action against our discipline in their local areas, but it's with complete shock that today we have to report that 'Parkour' has been banned in the Battery Area and surrounding locale within New York City. Frankly we cannot understand how an authority can seriously try to ban any type of physical activities that encourages health, good living and is very vocal in promoting a respect for all surroundings and environment.

A new film documenting our recent Open Training Day in New York, run by Stephane, Dan and Chris, has just gone online and can be watched in its entirety here. Shot by our very own lady of the camera, Julie Angel, the piece is an insight into the first major seminar on American soil run by European traceurs, and promises to be the first of many. Next month will see us in Columbus, Ohio, which Julie will also be capturing.

We love these candid viewpoints from students and participants, and they can act as a great taster before our own Julie Angel releases her professional edit of the day's proceedings...

Monday morning sees Parkour Generations Team Members Dan, Stephane, Chris and Julie Angel flying out to New York to participate in Youtube's huge 'Upfront' Event on February 13th. Then on the 14th the team will be running an open Training Day in Central Park, sarting at 11am at Heckscher Playground. All are welcome to come along and join in, and we look forward to see the New York community fully represented.

With Stephane, Dan, Chris and Julie preparing to head out to New York next week to perform at the Youtube 'Upfront' Event on the 13th and then run an open training day in Central Park on the 14th, it seems the scene is not waiting around to get the action going... particularly among the women! Emulating our regular London Girl Jams, and encouraged by our own Tracey, several traceuses in New York have staged their very own women-only training day and it was such a success they plan to make it a monthly event.

On the 14th of February a team from Parkour Generations will be holding an open training day in New York City, New York. Starting in Heckscher Playground in Central Park at around 11am, the day will take the shape of an informal training event at which anyone is welcome to come and practise and access knowledge and methods from our team. Julie Angel will be capturing the goings-on on film, and we hope to see as many of our American colleagues as possible.
