Wednesday 27th July sees the London 2012 'One Year To Go Celebration Event'‏ taking place in London's Trafalgar Square. Parkour UK, as a 2012 Inspire Mark project, will be present throughout the event and we will be providing a full, live display of parkour on the mainstage during the evening show.

A quick reminder that this weekend plays host to the London 2012 "Open Weekend" event. To collaborate with this celebration we are allowing our regular youth academy class held at westminster academy to be totally free to the public on Friday 24th July. This is open for anyone between the ages of 8 to 19.

This month we are collaborating with London 2012's Open Weekend event by opening up our regular Youth Academy class to the public for free. The Youth Academy has always been free for young people who live in the Westminster Borough of London, and this will be extended to anyone between the ages of 8-19 on Friday 24th July. London 2012 Open Weekend celebrates art, culture, sport, and everything that makes up the London 2012 Games.

A reminder that tomorrow, Wednesday 2nd April, we will be hosting open workshops at the next Sportathon Roadshow event as part of the build-up to the London Olympics. The activity day will be held at Paddington Recreation Ground and a team from Parkour Generations will be there between 3 and 6 pm, and all are welcome to attend and join in. Always fun, these events are aimed at encouraging sport and physical activity across the country as we move towards 2012 - so come and have a go!

With the 2012 Olympic preparations building up steam, we will again be running demonstrations and workshops at the next Olympics Sportathon Roadshow in April. This one falls on Wednesday April 2nd and will be held at the Paddington Recreation Ground in London, running from midday to 8pm. Everyone is welcome to attend, please come along and find us there!

Friday 6th July will see us running more workshops at the second of the 250-or-so 2012 Roadshow event days planned in the build-up to the Olympics, following the success of the Greenwich Sportathon event. This one will be held in Hyde Park from 4-9pm, and is again open to all-comers.

Sport England are hosting a number of sporting roadshow sessions around the country as part of the London 2012 Olympic drive, and Parkour Coaching was invited to run the parkour workshops at these ´sportathons´. The roadshows kicked off in Greenwich on Friday, and are touring 27 locations across the country over a 10-week period.
