L.E.A.P. Construction Underway!

Today saw the first stages of construction for the L.E.A.P. (London Experience for Art du Deplacement & Parkour) Park in Westminster Academy, London. The building process is firmly underway and as you can see from the little photo above, the first concrete walls have been placed and cemented in. It's rock solid and this is only a small segment of what the finished facility will be.

New Mobile Parkour Facility

At the recent ADAPT Qualification Course in London the NGB launched it's new mobile training facility, exclusively designed by Parkour Generations. The mobile facility flat-packs away to fit in the back of a van or trailer, and can be set up in a variety of configurations in under 30 minutes from scratch. We will be using the facility this year at a number of events and training camps, and the facility is also available for retail very soon.

London's Parkour Park...

Monday next week sees the final planning meeting on site before construction can begin on London's first parkour park, which will be built at the Westminster Academy Sports Centre on the Harrow Road. Entirely designed by the most experienced practitioners and design team from Parkour Generations, this park will set the standard for purpose-built training facilities and will provide a great space for large seminars, classes, and events. Camden Adventure Playground Build

We recently collaborated with Erect Architecture and won the bid to consult and construct a new peer-conceived adventure playground in Kilburn Grange Park, Camden. We will be starting a series of workshops in the development space in June to introduce the local young people and the designers to the possibilities of use for the area. This should be a fascinating project that draws on the local community to create their own bespoke space for play and movement.

UK's First Parkour Parks

Next month sees us entering the construction stage of the UK's first outdoor parkour training facilities, with 2 parks to be built in London's Westminster borough. A collaborative project with the City of Westminster, these parks will provide a dedicated space for large-scale seminars and events, and will also be used as part of our regular Academy Classes. Designed by some of the most experienced practitioners in the world, these parks will also provide a model for several more facilities planned in the UK.

Parkour in the Parks...

The Royal Parks Foundation, the charity for the eight Royal Parks, is launching a new half marathon on 12 October 2008, starting and ending in Hyde Park. This month the Parkour Generations team will be providing the action for the promotional material leading up to the October event, centred around a photo-shoot and a 90-second video edit showcasing parkour being used in a unique manner on certain iconic London landmarks...
