This weekend, July 8-10, sees Dan and Johann along with Williams of the Yamakasi Founders teaching workshops throughout the Moscow Parkour Festival.  The event has been organised by the Russian Federation of Extreme Sports in conjunction with the Moscow Parkour Academy and the Moscow City government.

This video is a change in pace and shows a very different style of movement all using only one wall.

The emphasis here is on creativity with movement and self expression but is another example of how to use a single space.

At the end of last year Stephane and Dan were invited to visit the burgeoning parkour community in Russia and run some introductory seminars, including at a live event and for some inmates of a youth prison near St Petersburg.

Dan and Stephane have just returned from teaching a few days of seminars in St Petersburg, Russia, and the events went very well with great attendance from the burgeoning Russian traceur community. The last day was spent working with teenage inmates of a Russian prison, who live in fairly harsh conditions yet threw themselves into the training despite the cold and wet conditions! We would like to thank the St Petersburg parkour community for organising the seminars, and especially Evgenii, Gen and all the team for making us feel so welcome.

From 19-22 November, Dan and Stephane will be running seminars in the ancient city of St Petersburg, Russia. Dan was there last year and both the city and the parkour community were very welcoming and traceurs came from all over Russia to take part, showing great training spirit and physical abilities. This year should prove to be just as good, with Stephane also available to attend for his first trip to Russia. Dan has just returned from St Petersburg, Russia, where he was invited to give a presentation to various authorities on how they might implement over there the successful teaching paradigm we have developed in the UK for schools and at risk children. There was also a large parkour festival in the city, organised by some very dedicated and positive practitioners, which involved a seminar for 200 people run by Dan and Danny Ilabaca who was also present throughout the few days.

Today Dan flies out to St Petersburg, Russia, to present parkour and the ADAPT Certification Programme to the authorities there and discuss the possibilites of implementing the teaching system that has been so successful here in Britain. The UK Government, spearheaded by the City of Westminster, is streets ahead of any other nation when it comes to seeing the benefits of the discipline for reaching out to young people and encouraging them to become active and fulfil their physical potential through parkour.
