Next week sees the European Gathering kicking off in Denmark, hosted by our good friends at Streetmovement. The event is based at Gerlev Sports Academy just outside Copenhagen, and as always some of the Parkour Generations team will be teaching throughout alongside Yamakasi founders Williams Belle and Laurent Piemontesi. This year Dom and James will be coaching each day, and Yao and Annty will also be present for some of the event.

Today is the last day of Streetmovement's annual training event for young people in Denmark, Street Camp V. Street Camp is an event held twice a year for 13-18 year olds. The camp runs for four days with lots of inspirational training at Denmark's very best facilities, namely Gerlev Sports Academy just outside Copenhagen and the bespoke Streetmovement Park. This year team member Blane has been in residence teaching there the entire week as a special guest, and he has had a great time doing so.

This year Blane will be teaching at Streetmovement's annual training event for young people in Denmark from May 13-16, Street Camp V. Street Camp is an event held twice a year for 13-18 year olds. We are happy to announce that we are returning to the USA in May this year for an open seminar in Columbus, Ohio. 2008's Memorial Weekend Expo there was such a huge success we just had to go back.. and this time we are pleased to be bringing some of the Yamakasi founders along with us.

We have just returned from attending a conference in Denmark hosted by our good friends and colleagues, Streetmovement, which focussed on developing the discipline in Denmark alongside architects, educational establishments and sport authorities - much as we do here in the UK. Streetmovement is a collecive of highly committed and experienced individuals, and it's always a pleasure to work alongside them. Later this year we will be over there twice more to provide some extra instructors for the Streetcamp for young people and their August gathering.

This Friday and Saturday Dan and Stephane will be in Copenhagen, Denmark, to teach at a seminar in conjunction with partners Majestic Force and Street Movement and to attend a conference there. This year Street Movement have visited a number of Copenhagen schools, running workshops and opening eyes and minds to the possibilities of creative training in the school-yard environment. The conference will be attended by professionals from various sectors in Denmark to discuss the project and the further possibilities regarding health, lifestyle, architecture and education.

At the end of last year Stephane and Dan were invited to visit the burgeoning parkour community in Russia and run some introductory seminars, including at a live event and for some inmates of a youth prison near St Petersburg.

The national gathering in Mexico has just ended, and Blane and Thomas had a great time teaching and running the warm-up sessions for the 350 or so attendants, inclduing a very well attended women's workshop. Everyone put in great effort and brought incredible enthusiasm to the event, and big thanks to Urban Runners for organising the event over there and making it run so smoothly, and for welcoming the guys so warmly. This month on the 19-20th December Team Members Blane and Thomas will be running a seminar in Mexico City, Mexico, organised in conjunction with the local group, Urban Runners, for the country's national gathering event. The seminar is open to all and more details can be found on the website linked to above. The guys will be there a few days in advance to get used to the city and the community, and it should be a fine event all round.

Dan and Stephane have just returned from teaching a few days of seminars in St Petersburg, Russia, and the events went very well with great attendance from the burgeoning Russian traceur community. The last day was spent working with teenage inmates of a Russian prison, who live in fairly harsh conditions yet threw themselves into the training despite the cold and wet conditions! We would like to thank the St Petersburg parkour community for organising the seminars, and especially Evgenii, Gen and all the team for making us feel so welcome.
