Parkour Indonesia
Indonesia
Parkour (sometimes abbreviated to PK) or l'art du déplacement (English: the art of displacement) is an activity with the aim of moving from one point to another as efficiently and quickly as possible, using principally the abilities of the human body. It is meant to help one overcome obstacles, which can be anything in the surrounding environment — from branches and rocks to rails and concrete walls — and can be practiced in both rural and urban areas. Male parkour practitioners are recognized as traceurs and female as traceuses.
Developed by David Belle in France, this sport art is spread around the world after the release of a french movie, Yamakasi (2001).
Before 2007, Parkour is practised by individuals in some cities in Indonesia. And in mid-2007, those individuals agreed to build a forum and finally established Parkour Indonesia Online Forum to gather all Parkour practitioners in Indonesia.
Parkour is now developing fast in almost every big cities in Indonesia such as Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Jogja, Solo, Malang, Surabaya, Samarinda, Bali, Palembang, Medan, Makassar, etc.
