About Parkour
Parkour is a very complete and efficient way of training your body and mind, getting fit and healthy, and discovering your true potential. It is a natural method of training based on functional movement.
Beyond the physical benefits, parkour offers a powerful training tool for your mind as well. Parkour is a very direct experience of yourself and your environment in which you will face your fears and find a way to overcome them. It will train your discipline, your power of will and will increase considerably your confidence. This is an external path which takes you on an internal journey.
Parkour is also a way to connect with your environment in an age where increasingly we live at high speed and high intensity amidst jungles of concrete and steel. Your vision of your surroundings will change, expand and develop so that you will see your environment in a fresh and liberated manner.
Parkour can also be an art form in which imagination and self-expression have a central role. You will learn to reconnect with the playful spirit of your youth amidst surroundings that will enable you to relax fully into life.
About Mat Yoga
Your morning mat yoga practice of “asanas” (poses) can help take your Parkour training to the next level of awareness through conscious movement, alignment and breath control. As studies continue to reveal yoga's many health benefits, this centuries-old Eastern philosophy has become the new fitness soul mate for workout enthusiasts. Even prominent athletes are adding yoga to their training regime to develop balanced, injury-free muscles and spines. Yet to applaud yoga for its physical benefits alone would only diminish what this entire system has to offer as a whole. By practicing yoga on a regular basis, you may be surprised to find that you're building much more than a strong, flexible body.
Initially, the sole purpose of practicing yoga was to experience spiritual enlightenment. In Sanskrit (the ancient language of India), yoga translates as "yoke" or "union," describing the integration of mind and body to create a greater connection with one's own pure, essential nature.
The Mat Vinyasa-style yoga we will practice at Palm Garden, combines a series of flowing postures with rhythmic breathing for an intense body-mind workout.
About Anti-Gravity Yoga
(*At studio, using Hammocks)
AntiGravity Yoga combines traditional yoga principles with elements from aerial acrobatics, dance, pilates and calisthenics. AntiGravity Yoga helps students realign their body and Spirit with the tool of gravity to achieve physical and mental decompression. You will learn to fly, hold and balance in challenging yoga poses longer, gain better kinesthetic awareness, build cardiovascular and muscular strength, become more flexible, increase joint mobility, decompress the vertebrae of the spine without strain and utilize the agility you've gained from yoga to play with gravity! The class emphasis is to have fun while learning new skills and experiencing a total body workout and increase which will help compliment your Parkour training! One of the key elements about Anti-Gravity Yoga that lends to Parkour is called “Prioprioceptive Awareness”
