So, foamrollers...
When I visited Turkey for about a year ago, I payed for some massage about three times. I didn't manage to relax in any of those three times even though the massage lasted for about an hour for each sessision. When the first sessision was over, the one that gave me massage knocked with her hand into the wall, and said ''Like concrete. Indeed pretty fun, but not very uplifting..
I have recently felt some pain in my shoulders, or rather the back of the deltoid muscle mostly, and the deltoid itself. It's only at certain moves though - I feel no pain while doing pressups.
I started to think about what the masseur told me for two years ago. Because I do condition a lot, warm-up very well and rotate the major joints, and I follow a stretching routine and I tend not to overdo stuff. so can't quite understand what the cause is.
So, I saw Blanes ''Daily Challange'', and read the word ''Foam roller'' wich I've never heard about. Unfortunately, It seems that foam rollers is hard to get a hand on where I live, and also very expensive, but i bought some tennis balls instead - wich is also much cheaper - and I did various exercises for my shoulders, my back, and my legs.
When working with my shoulders...I though I was gonna pass out Lol.. It was a terrible sensation of pain and my face must have looked real funny. I did the same routine today, It's for the 4th time now - and the pain was less than before. A lot of the pain was gone.
One thing is for certain: Streching isn't enough. At least not for me. When I used the tennisball to work the IT band it hurt pretty bad to but the pain have decreased since I started. I have also worked my lower back, and hell, it feels like the 20x3 minutes I have used have given given more than all the hundreds of hours I've spent on stretching my lower back and the buttocks area.
Now, does it work good with tennisballs as foam 'rollers', or should I seriously consider to get a foamroller?
Also, is it possible that the pain in my deltoid and back deltoid muscle(s) might have something to do with the stiffness? I also wonder what kind of light exercises/ stretching routines and other stuff I could do to get rid of it.
