Hey guys, I've been training parkour for about two years now and I've always felt like my strengh progression is going unusually slow, and I've always wondered why that is. At the same time, I've been doing strengh training on and off (such as pullups, pushups, situps, squats and other body exercises) ever since I started training, and alot of the times I find myself quitting on goals, even though i've gotten better at following through on my harder goals now.
I've realized, I've been asking myself and my friends the wrong questions all along, such as "do I have the wrong technique?", "do I need to eat better?", "should I do other kinds of exercises?" and now I've come to the following conclusion:
I'm having trouble handeling the mental stress of serious strengh and fitness training as I don't realy see any major difference in my looks after quite a long time of training (not that that's why I train, but the fact that it makes me look alot better is a big inspiration for the less fun parts of fitness training).
I'm wondering, can anybody relate to my issues and in that case, do you have any tips on how to overcome the "lazyness" of quitting right at that point where you're starting to push yourself over the limit? What was your inspiration?
