Global Climate Jam: September 26th 2009

Sandbag and Parkour Generations are calling on traceurs and parkour groups everywhere to help stage the world’s first ever global parkour jam against climate change as part of our One Giant Leap campaign.

Help us show the world that parkour is a positive force in the local and global community.

On Saturday September 26 we’re asking Parkour groups everywhere to:

• Arrange and promote a 2-hour training session in their area, or join forces with other groups in the country to stage a national jam.

• Choose a popular and interesting location where a lot of people will see the event

Sandbag will be providing campaign T-shirts and materials to theme the event, and to provide media and volunteer support wherever possible. To support your jam Sandbag will need:

• Email, phone and address details for a group contact

• Details of exactly when and where you intend to conduct your jam

• Orders for free campaign T-shirts were closed as of Friday August 28th, however we can still make T-shirt artwork available to individuals or groups who wish to print out their own T-shirts for the day.

Please address this information and any queries you may have to damien@sandbag.org.uk

To maximise the impact of your event, we recommend you contact local authorities and local media to let them know it’s happening. Sandbag will attempt to attract national media and officials to your event. If you have a group website, we encourage you to post details of your jam online and to forward us the web address so we can link to it from our jam map.

Please register your group by emailing both contact@parkourgenerations.com and damien@sandbag.org.uk.

We encourage all groups to train safely on the day. Groups and individuals participating in the jam do so at their own risk.

Below is a map with the locations of currently signed-up participants.
