Julie has been working as an independent and commercial filmmaker for the past 10 years specializing in documentaries, action promos and sub-culture sports and artist based films. Her work has been broadcast internationally as well as screened in many prestigious galleries and film festivals worldwide. Julie has amassed over 14 million views on her YouTube channel www.youtube.com/slamcamspam and continues to build an extensive library of parkour and sports related content. She has worked on many advertising campaigns for global clients such as Nokia, Canon, Yota and Native Instruments. Julie is one of the most experienced parkour filmmakers in the world and has strong relations with many of the founders of the art and most experienced practitioners in the world. Julie’s aim has been to extend the knowledge and understanding of parkour beyond its mediatised representations as a spectacular performance. She has made some of the most seminal parkour documentaries including ‘Jump Westminster’, ‘Le Singe est de retour’ and ‘MySpace’. Julie has just successfully completed the world’s first parkour PhD at Brunel University´s Screen Media Research Centre, title: Ciné Parkour: a cinematic and theoretical contribution to the understanding of the practice of parkour.
