Ozzi
Quintero
Founder of the Hawaii parkour scene, Ozzi runs Hawaiipk and has been a big influence on the development of parkour there. Born in Venezuela, Ozzi was always
an active kid, experimenting and "jumping" from sport to sport looking to satisfy his thirst for movement and exploration.
With a background in martial arts (kempo, ninjutsu), freestyle dance and
breakdancing, Ozzi has used his creative vision and physical abilities to represent
parkour as a discipline of mental stimulus and excellent exercise for the body as well as a method of training for injury prevention. An overall way of regaining the roots of our nature. His background has enabled him to excel quickly throughout his parkour training, most of which he has spent sharing his teachings and bringing awareness to those curious about the discipline.
Ozzi strongly believes in parkour as a method of training and self-exploration that
allows practitioners to develop a new perspective on the world that surrounds
us, through knowing and mastering oneself and through the challenges faced in
training. He also believes parkour will aid you in achieving the confidence you need in order to "flow" through life. Accepting each obstacle as an opportunity for personal improvement. A way of being in the very moment you are living in.
Ozzi also promotes the "Leave No Trace" initiative, to respect one’s environment, act responsibly and maintain a positive attitude at all times. Aloha for the aina - (Love to the earth)
